About Us

"A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and create new trees." - Amelia Earhart

The coronavirus has spread at a rapid pace, affecting every aspect of our lives. People around the world are facing a new reality with many uncertainties. What is one antidote to the fear and panic many of us may be feeling? It’s love and kindness.

Studies have shown that kindness has a significant impact on our health. It raises our immunity, lowers anxiety and stress and boosts our mood. Throughout history, inspiring leaders have channeled kindness as a powerful force to counteract injustice, discrimination and violence, and promote humanity and peace.

Kindness is contagious! We can start with ourselves, and then see the effects ripple out into our relationships and communities. While we make our best efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus in our communities, let’s spread kindness as far and wide as we can! The capacity for human beings to come together and support each other with care and compassion is incurable. Let's find creative ways to do it!

Kindness news,
by you for you.

I remember attending an event where a Filipino woman poured out a poem about her homeland. The complex layers of identity she could not and would not compress in a single sentence. Her words rang out, hit chords audially and internally, demanded attention. They spoke to me. They stayed with me. This was one of the experiences that motivated my ongoing journey into writing.

I believe in the power of stories - words woven together to inspire, uplift, illuminate, evoke, awaken, be heard. I want to put those stories on the page.
I believe stories give us a window into each other's unique experiences and perspectives, and that sharing them can create the empathy and understanding that transcends our divides. During this pandemic, there is so much negative news coming our way every day. It’s easy for it to overwhelm our minds and spirits. I wanted to create a place where people can go to find stories that restore our hope in the world and each other, and inspire us to do what we can to reach out to others with kindness and compassion during these challenging times.
